Born in Hong Kong, Poshek Fu (Ph.D., Stanford University, 1989) is Professor of History and Cinema Studies. His publications include Between Shanghai and Hong Kong: The Politics of Chinese Cinemas and The Cinema of Hong Kong: History, Arts, Identity (co-editor). He is writing a book on diasporic cinema, global Chinese popular cultures, and Cold War politics across the Pacific. His teaching interests include modern Chinese history, pan-Chinese cinemas, Afro-Asian conections, Asian American popular cultures, and race relations in the U.S.
