Mimi Thi Nguyen (Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley, 2004) specializes in transnational and Asian American feminist cultural studies, with emphases on feminist political theory, material and popular culture, and the intersections of both. She co-edited a collection called "Alien Encounters: Popular Culture in Asian America" (Duke UP, 2007) and is completing her book manuscript on the politics of image and affect in refugee and diasporic cultures called "Representing Refugees." She has also published on the lingering presence of Bruce Lee, queer and punk subcultures, and iterations of gender and sexuality in digital space. Her next project focuses on fashion and human rights, citizenship and transnationality.
